Red Rocks Fireworks Dress
Red Rocks Fireworks Dress
Lore of the dress:
I wore this dress opening for My Morning Jacket at Red Rocks in 2019. It is the only time I have ever worn the dress & it comes with the matching silk jacket.
I sang “Canta” & the crescent moon was rising right in the center of the massive rock amphitheater behind the audience. The song is about her & I felt like a portal to celestial romantic destiny opened for me.
I went to highschool in CO & saw Death Cab for Cutie at Red Rocks in 2008. I remember what a beautiful feeling that place held. It didn’t occur to me that I would be on that stage someday, leading a band, singing my song. I was a musical theatre kid & wanted to be on Broadway so I moved to NYC & joined the Living Theatre at 20 years old, but I would sing my heart out on the street with a pink ukulele busking for money.
To this day people I’ve had strangers come up to me & say “Did you have a pink ukulele in NYC? I have a video of you singing in the park” or my favorite “I have a video of you singing your heart out to nobody, facing the subway tracks, just waiting for the train.”
Specs of the dress:
